ネパールは雨季の最後の月を迎えました。毎年この時期には洪水による災害が起ります。
小倉清子さんのブログによれば、今年は東ネパールのサプタコシ川の大洪水で5万人を超える人々が避難生活を強いられ、家だけでなく耕作地も水没し、穀物だけで３億ルピー近い被害だそうです。
これだけの規模の災害が起っているのにもかかわらず,ネパール政府の対応は遅々として進みません。
あっさり首相の座を投げ出す日本も問題ありですが、いつまでも権力の座を取り合って、
国民に目を向けないネパールも問題ありです。
毎回同じセリフが出ますが前途多難なネパールです。

1.ラリグランスクラブの教育プロジェクトの報告
＊スカラシップの生徒達の勉強は滞りなく進んでいます。
＊W.E.Pの先生のスビタ・タパさんが、ＣＭＡ（Community Medical Association）の入学テストに合格しました。４７人受験し３番で合格しました。彼女がラリグランスクラブからのサポートで勉強が出来、彼女の将来にとって、最上の道が得られたことに私達も喜びましょう。早速入学手続きをしてあげました。日曜日から授業がはじまります。
昨年、ラリグランスクラブで授業料を支援したクリシュナ・マヤさんのＣＭＡの最終試験の結果が、発表されました。ところが残念ながら実技試験で失敗しました。でも彼女は追試験で絶対に合格すると言っています。朗報をまちましょう。
| ＊The supported students from Laligurans club are doing well with their
studies. ＊The teacher of WEP, Subita Thapa, has passed the CMA entrance test. It’s good to know she was in a third position among other 47 students who had given the test. We hope that she will do her best in the future. She is getting support from Laligurans club for her studies.i have already done admission her and the classes begin from Sunday. Krishna Maya Mijar’s CMA final test result was published. But unfortunately, she had failed the practical tests. She said that she will surely pass in the re-test. |

２. 地域における社会福祉活動
私が地域の組合長をしている関係で、地域での社会福祉活動に、忙しくしています。最近実施した２つの活動を紹介します。

＊東ネパールで起こった、サプタコシ河の大水害による罹災者への支援活動をしました。（写真１手前右はモティさん）
＊サプタコシ河の氾濫で、５万人もの人がホームレスとなり、お金と食料と衣服が国際的にも支援を求められ、私達も地域で何か出来る事をしたいと考え、２万２千ルピーのお金とトラックに１杯（１２１袋）の衣料を集めました。（写真２）
＊私達は、地域で赤十字で働いているスタッフの働きかけで、緊急を要する輸血のために献血のプログラムをつくりました。地域からは５１人が協力しました。
| ＊ In Eastern part of Nepal, there was a huge flood due to the breakage of
the damm of Saptakoshi river. Around 50,000 people became homeless. They
are compelled to leave their place and live somewhere else. Money, food
and clothes are being provided from national and international level. In
this process, we also wanted to put our little contribution to help the
victims. We collected money and clothes from the community. We managed
to collect 121 packs of clothes (a full truck) and an amount of Rs 22,000.
＊We have done a lot of social work in our community, recently. Being a president of the community, I had to be a bit busy. We organized a ‘blood donation programme’in our community.51 people from our community donated their blood. Staffs working in the ‘Blood bank’ of the Red Cross collects the blood on the given date and this blood is used for the people who is in extreme need of blood. |

３．女性のお祭り：ティージ
９月２日ネパールでは女性のお祭りティージがありました。

この祭りでは、既婚のあるいは未婚の女性が、パシュパティ河やシバのお寺に、礼拝に行きます。
この日は、ほとんどの女性は絶食し、何人かの女性は、終日水も飲みません。
既婚女性は、夫の長寿と健康を願い、終日シバ神に祈りを捧げます。
かたや未婚女性は、将来の理想の男性にめぐり合えるように絶食します。
女性達は、赤いドレスを着て早朝からお寺に行きます。その日はお寺が大変混雑しますから午前２時ごろから出掛けるのですが、多くの女性は、行列に並んでいるうちに失神し、ボランティアのお世話になります。（写真１）
彼女達は、グループになりお寺や家で踊ります。
私達家族は、近所の人々を家によんで、ダンスプログラムを楽しみました。（写真２ モティ家のテラスで））
| Right now, a festival of women, Teej is going on in Nepal. In this festival
married and as well as unmarried women go to pashupati or any other lord
shiva’s temple and worship. On this day (this year,on 2nd
September), almost all women take fasting.
Some women don’t even drink water for the whole day. Married women
observe the festival by fasting throughout the day to honour lord Shiva so as to
get his blessing for the longevity and health of their husbands. On the other
hand, unmarried girls take fast in the hope to get good
husbands.The women put on red dress and go to the temples early in the morning.
Many start going at around 2 a.m because there is a big crowd on this day.
Many women fainted while standing in the queue. help was provided by the
volunteers. They form a group and dance in the temples field and the houses also. We also invited our neighbours and organized a dance programme in our home. |

Dear Igarashi sama and members of Laligurans Club, Greetings from Kathmandu, Nepal I hope you are fine there and everything is going on well there in Japan. Here I am also fine along with my family. This time I am sharing a good news. I gave a birth to a baby boy on July 26th, 2008. Doctors had to do a surgery for my delivery. However, my baby is fine and I am also recovering slowly. ラリグランスクラブでは、ポカラまで足を延ばす事が少なく、アカナ会のお手伝いが出来ず申し訳ないのですが、「志を同じにするグループとして助け合いましょう」とおっしゃってくださって本当に感謝しています。
モティさんからも次ぎのメッセージが届いています。

私達はポカラのセワケンドラを支援されている安達恵子さんにお会いできて本当に嬉しかったです。又、彼女が帰国される時に、ラリグランスクラブのバザーのための商品を持ち帰ってくださり、とても感謝しています。 We (me and my wife Shanta) got a chance to meet her on the day of her arrival (17th August) at Yak and Yeti Hotel and on the day of her departure (30th August) at Nanglo Restaurant. We sat and had light meal(けいしょく、Khaja in Nepali) together. We discussed the activities of Laligurans Club and Sewa Kendra. We had a very good time and want to thank her very much for her time. |
